We have Instructor Development Courses running throughout the year in a number of locations: Isle of Wight – these are based in our dive centre in Cowes and Wimborne in Dorset, based at Flippas-n-fins.
The IDC combines both elements of the Assistant Instructor course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor course in a seamless flow.
You will learn the under pinning philosophy of how PADI structures all of its courses, how to deliver knowledge, demonstrate and teach diving skills in confined water and open water. To successfully deliver all PADI courses in a fun and safe manner, you will also build an understanding of risk management and how PADI course standards insure that people learn in a positive environment – just one of the ways that PADI is the worlds first choice in scuba diving!
If you would like to find out further information on these, just contact our PADI Course Director Kim Langridge on email (info@iowdivers.co.uk) or call Kim on 01983 240255
Course Fee £1,850 including materials.
* Please note, all courses are valid for 12 months from day of purchase.
Site entrance fee: There is a fee for open water dives requiring entry to an inland dive site, payable daily by the student. Any boat costs if relevant, will be agreed prior to the course.
Full SCUBA Equipment is required for the Course. If you need any equipment, you can hire this from Island Divers – just give us a call!
For anyone interested in taking the next step, below is just a brief summary from one of our latest IDC Participants which should provide an insight into the IDC!
‘My IDC in a Nutshell!
What an eye opener! – Without a doubt the benchmark for standards was clearly set by the team at the very beginning: not only by their coaching, but especially by their own skills; all of which worked really well for me. I have to be confident that I am being taught by individuals who are able to excel in what they do – it gives me a high target to aim for.
Being instructed and coached by people who are great at what they do and who can explain the difference between ‘good’ and ‘great’; means you know how to improve, it also means you know you cant get away with anything!!! If you take on-board what they are telling you, and do as they do – you can’t really go far wrong!
Would I do it again if I had to………absolutely!……….without a doubt the IDC prepared me for the IE and gave me confidence in my ability to perform when I needed to.
A MASSIVE thank you to Kim and the team for all of their help, coaching and guidance and a ‘go do it’ to anyone who is debating whether or not to take that next leap!’ – Alec Bates, OWSI 2016
